behringer Stereo Monitor
ok so we just bought a pa system package. will my jbl speaker work with it?
the package came with a
*Behringer PMP6000 powered mixer with 2 x 800W stereo mode or 16000W bridge mono mode.
* 2 x Behringer eurolive VS1220 speaker 600-watt 2-way (150W continuous)
* 2 x Behringer eurolive VS1220F speaker 600-watt 2-way (150W continuous)
I'll be using the 2 VS1220 as my main and the 2 VS1220F as my floor monitor. also, to add to that, someone gave me 2 JBL SF15 speakers with 8ohms, a power capacity of 250W and peak power of 1000W. Now my question is.
*can i add my existing JBL speakers to my new pa system package right now?
*Will my powered mixer be enough to power it?
*or do i need to buy an extra amp to power my jbl?
*and if i need another amp what kind do i need?
I can tell you from experience that the wattages on those Behringer boards is kind of misleading. You can get to that power level, but you have to drive the board really, really hard.
OK, you're going to be using one of the power amps for your mains, and one for the monitors. All of those cabinets you have are 8 ohms, so 2 sets of paralleled cabinets is going to put a 4 ohm load on each of the amps, which is the lower load they can support.
If you want to add more speakers, you'll have to add another amp to the system. You probably want something in the 250 to 300w/channel at 8 ohms range. Crown, QSC, and Peavey all make decent power amps. Stay away from Nady, and I'm sorry but I'm not real impressed with Behringer's power amps either.
