what is ata in case of hard disc(pls answer)?
In case you don't wanna read that marathon, ATA is a type of connection for hard discs. In practical terms it is synonamous with IDE, if you are replacing a hard drive. (Don't yell at me computer experts, I know they are different, I said practical terms). It is now being replaced by SATA, which is a different type of connection, they are not compatible with each other unless you have an adapter.

Can I use a IDE hard drive case for a Ultra ata hard drive?
Sure. The case probably supports UDMA/Ultra Ata transfers of at least 100mb/s, but if not, the drive should gracefullu drop down to at least UDMA/33. Plain IDE is super-obsolete, and you can't possibly have an enclosure with no UDMA support.
