Active Mixer i just got a new computer off my g-ma and t says i have no active mixer devices for my volume i have a wxp?
its a windows xp and i really wanna get my volume to start working im using a re-installation disk with a dimension 2300 dell desktop computer the message reads "you have no active mixer devices available" and i need to install hardware to get the volume on my computer ive tried updating from windows and every disk i have for the computer

There are no active mixer devices available?
Volume control is not on mute. Can not hear anything from website or CD player.
Go to Start --> Run, and type in services.msc.
A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to Windows Audio. Right-click and click on Properties.
Make sure that "Startup type" is set to automatic. Also, make sure, under "Service status," start is selected.
